PRIMARY DETAIL An exciting opportunity to drive innovation in pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning, and lead a high-performing design and production team as a Learning Design and Production Lead in the Faculty of Arts. - Salary package: From $142,838 per annum (HEW 9) plus 17% employer's superannuation contribution and annual leave loading. - Full-time (35 hours per week), continuing role - Hybrid/ flexible work arrangements - Based in the Faculty of Arts at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde The Role We are seeking an experienced and innovative Learning Design and Production Lead to play a key role in shaping the future of technology-enhanced learning within the Faculty of Arts. Reporting to the Head of Educational Services, you will lead and manage a team of learning designers and production specialists to deliver high-quality, pedagogically effective learning materials and solutions. This role will drive innovation in learning design and media production, supporting the Faculty’s education strategy and enhancing the student experience. You will work collaboratively with academic staff, Associate Deans, Deputy Dean Education & Employability, and University-wide stakeholders (including the Office of the PVCE) to deliver on strategic priorities, build sustainable educational design solutions, and strengthen Macquarie’s reputation for excellence in teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the learning design and production team to deliver high-quality, innovative, and effective learning solutions. Coach and develop staff with a focus on continuous improvement. Drive innovation in pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning strategy in collaboration with Faculty and University stakeholders. Build strong partnerships with faculty and central teams (including the Office of the PVCE) to deliver tailored, sustainable educational design solutions. Provide expert advice to academic staff on curriculum design, pedagogy, and technology. Keep abreast of developments in technology-enhanced learning and apply insights to Faculty strategy. Actively participate in University communities of practice and cross-faculty initiatives. About You You are a strategic leader with expertise in educational design, digital learning, and innovative teaching practices. With strong experience in managing learning design and/or production teams, you can inspire and coach staff to deliver high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement. You have a thorough knowledge of adult learning principles, online and blended pedagogies, and emerging technologies. You are an effective communicator who can partner with academics, central teams, and external stakeholders, while also providing expert advice on curriculum, pedagogy, and technology-enhanced learning. Your strong project management skills, analytical mindset, and ability to deliver results in complex environments will enable you to lead impactful initiatives that transform the learning experience for students. Selection Criteria To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate: Relevant tertiary qualifications (postgraduate preferred) and significant experience in educational design and learning technologies in higher education. Proven experience managing learning design and/or production teams. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and pedagogies for online and blended learning. Experience in program analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and management. Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, with a high level of attention to detail.
