Welcome to Kimberley Calling – a groundbreaking initiative by CEWA that beckons you to empower and be inspired by students throughout Broome, teaching at your choice of 13 unique school destinations. CEWA invites leadership staff from Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary school backgrounds to apply. Successful applicants require a university degree (or equivalent) in Education, registration with the TRBWA and availability to work either: long term contracts of 12 months (with option to extend) / or contracts by school term (with option to extend) - apply and chat to us about your availability and career goals!

From this pool, CEWA will directly appoint outstanding individuals to carefully matched schools and communities in this unique desert region.

  • Relocation travel from any major Australian city including flights, goods transportation and vehicle transportation paid by CEWA
  • Housing provided by CEWA at capped low percentage of salary or completely free (depending on which school destination)
  • Location allowance paid per fortnight
  • Regional annual bonus (pro rata for teachers working term by term)
  • Air conditioning reimbursement paid per fortnight
  • Electricity cover for higher than average costs paid by CEWA
  • Accelerated long service leave accrual at twice the standard rate (depending on which school destination)

  • 2 x mid-year break chartered plane flights annually for teacher teams in Eastern desert schools - choice of destinations include Broome, Katherine, etc
  • Friday early classroom finish 12:30pm every week *applicable to selected desert schools

  • Requirements:Before you apply for this job, you need: 
  • University degree in Education or equivalent: either Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary
  • Registration confirmation from Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia - please conduct this process online via: TRBWA - note: candidates with teacher registration in a different Australian State (other than WA) may apply stating their NT, QLD, SA, NSW, VIC or TAS registration details, should you be successful in securing a position CEWA will guide you on how to register for mutual recognition with the TRBWA.
  • Highly desirable: candidates who are of Catholic faith and who possess the Accrediation to Teach in Catholic Schools qualification will be highly regarded. However candidates from all backgrounds who demonstrate a willingness to learn and support CEWA values are most welcome to apply 
  • If and when you are offered a job with CEWA, you will need: 
  • Working with Children check: this is conducted in person in Western Australia.
