- Job Description
This role is designed to lead and execute comprehensive Quality Engineering (QE) efforts to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of the platform. It combines strategic leadership with hands-on testing expertise, and includes the following core objectives
- Quality Assurance & Testing Leadership
- Lead the creation and execution of functional and non-functional testing strategies, aligned with the TAL QE Strategy.
- Develop and implement automation test strategies with measurable goals.
- Standardize testing practices and ensure compliance with the established testing framework.
- Design reusable templates to streamline test design and improve efficiency.
- Test Design & Execution
- Collaborate with engineering managers, developers, and product managers to gather system requirements and understand functionality.
- Prepare detailed test plans and BDD test cases from functional specs, business requirements, or user stories.
- Conduct exploratory, functional, progression, and regression testing—both manual and automated.
- Log and track defects using defect management tools, ensuring timely resolution.
- Automation & Infrastructure
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts.
- Maintain and enhance the automation framework by adding new features.
- Set up and manage test infrastructure to support scalable testing operations.
- Agile & PI Planning Participation
- Participate in PI Planning and Story refinement sessions to clarify acceptance criteria, monitor risks, and confirm the Definition of Done.
- Coordinate test plans with release and environment schedules for the PI.
- Support offshore QE Enablement to ensure global alignment and execution.
- Collaboration & Advocacy
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and improvements.
- Maintain thorough test documentation and adhere to testing standards.
- Advocate for QE and lead initiatives to meet platform QE goals.
- Continuously contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in software testing and automation.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge or experience in insurance or finance domains.
- Ability to generate test reports covering metrics like test coverage, traceability, and defect leakage.
- Experience testing cloud-hosted applications.
Good to Have
- Experience with automation or performance testing using JMETER.
- Experience working with Playwright and AI.
- Mobile testing experience.
