- The Lead Consultant – Solution & Security Architecture plays a pivotal role in guiding enterprise clients through complex transformation initiatives. This role blends solution architecture, security expertise, and consulting leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and business-aligned technology outcomes, with a strong focus on the finance industry.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer engagements, managing expectations under tight timelines and shifting agile priorities.
- Translate business needs into secure, scalable solution designs, including system components, integrations, and data flows.
- Define solution architecture blueprints and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and target frameworks.
- Select and evaluate appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership across the delivery lifecycle, from design to deployment.
- Collaborate with delivery managers, developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and performance standards (ISO 27001, ASD E8, IRAP, APRA CPS 234).
- Develop and maintain a security architecture framework (principles, standards, and reference models).
- Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis (nice-to-have).
- Provide security input on projects, proposals, and technology roadmaps.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to executives, project teams, and developers.
- Facilitate effective communication about technical and process changes across the organisation.
- Required Skills & Competencies
- The candidate must possess a strong understanding of solution design, systems integration, and software architecture patterns such as microservices, SOA, and cloud-native.
- The candidate should also possess proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, as well as application security.
- Solid understanding of data management, APIs, security, and infrastructure concepts.
- Expertise in identity and access management, encryption, firewalls, SIEM, endpoint security, and cloud security.
- Proven ability to balance functional and security requirements against business and technical constraints.
- The ability to create and present architecture diagrams, models, and roadmaps is also a key skill.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Finance industry experience is strongly preferred.
