POSITION OBJECTIVES
Provide support and assistance to the users of the information systems of the Fantech and Volution Group Australasia, by resolving workstation issues and assisting in the maintenance of the systems to improve efficiencies, communication and output throughout the company and deliver a stable, standardized environment for users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ROLE SPECIFIC
- Act as a facilitator in the resolution of user support requests on hardware or software issues in a timely fashion, appropriate to the level of urgency.
- Ensure user workstations are maintained and reporting correctly.
- Assist with the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure and systems which meet the company’s goals.
- Compliance testing of software where required.
- Provide recommendations to the Information Systems Manager on network and system improvements.
- Assist with prioritising projects by assessing the cost-benefits.
GENERAL
- Identify and advise of non-conformance with the company’s Information Technology Usage policy, including but not limited to piracy of software, abuse of Internet usage and access to secured systems.
- Ensure the security and integrity of all systems by enforcing password, Anti-Virus and firewall controls.
- Follow IT procedures and processes, including Change Management, to ensure the highest quality overall system.
- Maintain the integrity of the standardised operating environment (SOE).
- Ensure all servers and settings are properly backed up and archived (where necessary).
- Ensure all relevant documentation, including asset registers (software and hardware), is kept up-to-date.
- Some out-of-hours and interstate work may be required.
NETWORK ENVIRONMENT
- Authentication and File Management - Novell (MicroFocus) OES SUSE Linux Servers
- Additional Servers – MS Windows Servers
- Email – Novell (MicroFocus) Groupwise / MS Outlook (O365)
- Workstations – Windows 7,10,11 Linux, Zenworks
- Firewalls, Routers
Corporate Responsibilities
- Cooperate with FANTECH PTY LTD in relation to any actions taken to comply with the relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations and ensure that actions taken by the employee do not interfere with or place at risk the health, safety, or well-being of the employee or any person in the workplace.

- Act in a professional manner at all times while performing duties for and/or representing FANTECH PTY LTD in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS), Employee Manual, and accompanying policies.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

SELECTION CRITERIA
Education/Qualifications
- Year 12 Qualification, or equivalent
- A degree qualification in an IT discipline, or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of two years’ experience covering IT functions in an operational organisation with prior leadership or supervision experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be well regarded, but is not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Novell/Linux environments a major advantage.
- Up to date with developments in software technology, products and services.
