We are the market leaders in Australian citrus, berries, avocado, grapes, mushrooms, tomatoes and bananas.  Costa’s Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Irrigation Designer to join our team in Nangiloc, Victoria. The Irrigation Designer will design and plan irrigation systems at our Nangiloc citrus farm. This specialists role is in charge with designing efficient and cost-effective irrigation systems for our citrus orchards based on water availability, crop type and soil characteristics. With the assistance of aerial and satellite data, you will prepare detailed irrigation plans and layouts ensuring our orchards receive efficient, compliant, and sustainable water supply to maximise productivity. Working alongside farm managers, agronomists, engineers and other production staff, you’ll apply your irrigation expertise to support crop health, water use efficiency, and long-term sustainability in one of Australia’s most important citrus growing regions. What You’ll Do Plan and design the irrigation systems according to water licensing, productivity expectations, climatic and environmental considerations in line with Agronomic advice, water source availability, crop type, and soil characteristics Examine topographical, physical and soil characteristics of farmland with agronomy to determine its most effective use and identify any nutrient deficiencies Analyse climatic and soil moisture data to optimise irrigation scheduling and distribution efficiency Monitor crops with the assistance of satellite data, aerial imaging and other reports and data at your disposal  Prepare detailed irrigation plans and layouts based on findings and make adjustments as necessary  Select the most appropriate irrigation equipment and technology based on the particular characteristics of the site  Ensure regulatory compliance with water licensing, usage regulations, and environmental standards Provide specialist advice, training, and support to the farm on irrigation scheduling, and maintenance Collaborate with horticulture and production teams to support sustainable irrigation practices  Identify, budget, schedule and manage long term irrigation infrastructure projects  What You’ll Bring Relevant Diploma or higher; OR at least three years of relevant industry experience Experience in irrigation planning, water resource management, or farm technical support Practical knowledge and understanding on Irrigation scheduling, maintenance and upkeep Providing advice, training and technical support and services on technology solutions such as sensors, farm management software, data, etc. Clear communication skills to support and advise to farm teams Problem-solving ability Commitment to safe working practices About Company Costa Group is Australia’s largest horticultural company and Australia’s leading grower, packer, marketer and exporter of premium quality fresh fruit and vegetables.
