With strong growth and national expansion, we’re building a high-performance team that thrives on ownership, accountability, and delivering reliability at scale.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to join our Brisbane team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end inventory process — ensuring stock accuracy, efficient movement of parts, forecasting demand, and supporting services/repairs with the right components at the right time. You’ll be at the forefront leading Warehouse Operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve inventory control procedures, policies, and best practices
- Maintain accurate stock records in an ERP/WMS system (cycle counts, reconciliations, adjustments)
- Coordinate incoming receipts, quality inspections, and put-away / storage
- Oversee and coordinate the dispatch of goods and freight, ensuring compliance with schedules, documentation, and customer requirements.
- Authorise and document stock transfers, returns, disposals, and write-offs
- Forecast part demand based on historical usage, upcoming service schedules, and growth projections
- Analyse inventory trends, identify slow movers, and recommend action plans (e.g. rebalancing, obsolescence)
- Work collaboratively with procurement / purchasing to order parts timely and cost-effectively
- Liaise with field service, operations, and production to ensure parts availability and prevent service delays
- Perform regular audits, identify discrepancies, and investigate root causes
- Produce inventory reports and KPIs (accuracy, turnover, stock days, shrinkage) for management
- Lead stocktake events (annual or periodic)
- Train or support junior staff in inventory practices and controls
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years preferred) in an inventory control, stock management, or similar role
- Strong familiarity with inventory systems, ERP or WMS (or similar software)
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with data and spreadsheets
- Ability to forecast demand, manage stock levels, and mitigate overstock / stockouts
- Good communication skills — able to coordinate across functions (tech, operations, procurement)
- Process-oriented, with aptitude for continuous improvement and systemisation
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision, deliver clear and timely reports, take full ownership of assigned tasks, and manage priorities to meet business objectives.
- Tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field is a plus
- Experience in a technology, field service, industrial, or technical environment is advantageous
