Bob Adams Lifting Pty Ltd (BAL) is a specialist engineering and inspection business based in Sydney, servicing aviation and heavy-industry clients. We deliver compliant, OEM-aligned inspection, testing, certification, and maintenance of lifting equipment and height-safety systems.

We are seeking a hands-on Inspection Trade Assistant who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping a workshop running safely, efficiently, and professionally.

About the Role

As an Inspection Trade Assistant, you will support technicians and ensure the day-to-day operation, presentation, safety, and security of the workshop. This role suits someone with initiative, accountability, and strong attention to detail.

Experience working in an airport environment will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

1. Opening Duties (Daily)

• Open roller door and prepare workshop for daily operations
• Open external bins and position forklift outside (weather permitting)
• Conduct walk-around safety and readiness checks

2. Logistics Support (Daily)

• Receive and unload incoming items using forklift or trolleys
• Verify delivery documentation and inspect goods condition
• Prepare and stage items for technician inspection
• Clean, vacuum, and prepare storage boxes
• Remove outdated labels and ensure paperwork accuracy
• Assist with internal workshop logistics and movements

3. Workshop Cleaning & Maintenance (Daily)

• Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the day
• Return tools and equipment to designated storage
• Wipe down benches and toolboxes
• Confirm with technicians before final clean

4. Driving & External Logistics (Daily)

• Deliver and collect equipment from customer and supplier sites
• Safely operate forklifts or trolleys on and off site
• Secure loads to company vehicles (van or truck)
• Represent the company professionally at all times

5. Packing & Freight Preparation (Daily)

• Pack items into storage cases or boxes
• Complete freight and dispatch documentation
• Ensure reports are placed inside tooling/cases
• Label and secure packages (straps, cable ties, tape)
• Coordinate dispatch with the Office Manager

6. Closing Duties (Daily)

• Return and secure forklift (forks down)
• Close bins and roller door
• Ensure workshop is locked and secure

About You – Essential Requirements

• Reliable, professional, punctual, and well-presented
• Current Australian Driver’s License (required)
• CAT 2 Driver’s License (required)
• Ability to obtain and maintain ASIC clearance (non-criminal record required)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and within a small team
• Strong initiative and ability to complete tasks unassisted
• Physically capable of manual handling duties
• Willing to complete physical, visual, and audiometric assessments
• Willing to travel interstate when required
• Completion of Year 10 (minimum) / Year 12 equivalent preferred
• Reference checks required

Skills & Experience (Preferred)

• Forklift license
• EWP license
• Mechanical or trade qualifications
• Experience using hand tools and measuring devices
• Warehousing duties (receipt, dispatch, housekeeping)
• Liaising with customers and suppliers
• Experience in inspection, maintenance, or repair of aircraft tooling/equipment
• Previous experience working at an airport (highly regarded)
• AutoCAD, Vector software experience (advantageous
