ROLE OUTLINE

  • The Implementation & Activation team is responsible for delivering best-in-class implementation planning and activation for clients.
  • The scope of the Implementation & Activation team covers the Implementation Planning and Activation of all media channels and touchpoints, with a focus on delivering connected, audience-first client outputs. Within the team, we have some team members who work across all channels and both implementation planning & activation, and others who specialise and work across a more focused scope of work, (for example, Performance specialists who work across Social & Search).

  • The Implementation & Activation Associate Manager is an important role, ensuring operational excellence and responsible for driving day-to-day work that delivers effective campaigns, ensuring best-in-class consistent implementation, optimisation, and reporting. Working very closely with your manager, you will produce best-in class solutions, offer unparalleled service and deliver against targets.
  • The role involves the development and application of specialist technical skills, with emerging people leadership.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clients
  • Help build on the agency's reputation for outstanding client service.
  • Clear understanding of the in-scope services of your clients and the process for completing work above and beyond.
  • Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with clients at a junior and intermediate level, as it relates to implementation planning & activation.
  • Proactively recommend tactics and opportunities that resolve client challenges and objectives.
  • Product
  • Bring innovation and creativity to the table, leveraging market insights
  • Take the lead in delivering best in class campaigns, in line with all planned parameters, in an efficient, effective, compliant, and future facing way, in line with GroupM best practice.
  • Lead the development and presentation of insightful and progressive post analysis reports.
  • Engage with our media partners to expand your knowledge of the media landscape and understanding of core media principles.
  • Engage with internal product teams across GroupM to ensure you have a robust understanding about their offerings and relevance to our clients and can clearly articulate the benefits of their inclusion.
  • Responsible for ensuring all financial and compliance processes are followed by you and your direct reports, with 100% accuracy.
  • Seek to find, communicate and implement improvements in all aspects of the role..
  • When required, a strict adherence to activation commitments that have client contract association.
  • Support the development of strong media plans that meet client objectives and KPIs.
  • Dedicate time to self-learning through reading industry publications, research papers and online courses (including GroupM University and MFA)
  • People
  • Provide clear guidance and instruction when teaching & helping others.
  • Contribute to great teamwork with a supportive and positive attitude.
  • Oversee workflow of direct reports, swiftly escalating issues as they arise.
  • Motivate and empower direct reports to achieve individual, team and org goals.
  • Conduct fortnightly 1:1s, annual Career Conversations and Performance Reviews with direct reports.
  • Liaise with the People Team to resolve any team disputes to ensure a safe and productive team environment.
  • Continuously champion company values to build strong and trusted connections, solution-oriented perspectives and demonstrate that you genuinely care for collective team success.
  • Growth & Marketing
  • Collaborate closely with your manager to identify, collate and showcase examples of great work from within the team, both internally and externally.
  • Be a positive face of the agency at industry events, either related to clients’ category or our media partners.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience managing a team
  • Passion for Search, Social, Programmatic, E-Comm, Data and Tech
  • Strong, up to date, media landscape knowledge (confidently able to articulate macro consumer trends and the challenges and opportunities they bring).
  • Attention to detail
  • Extensive media buying experience
  • Problem solving mentality
  • Clear communicator, with strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrates well developed negotiation and Performance planning skills
  • Results Driven. Passionate about delivering business results for clients, with the ability to identify and clearly articulate what’s working and why.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In 3 months

  • Established collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders and internal reports.
  • A strong understanding of and can clearly articulate the agency and group proposition, core Performance processes and our way of working.
  • Immersed yourself in the team with an understanding of the status of all active and upcoming campaigns.

In 6 months

  • Demonstrated your ability to deliver on all aspects of the role in an efficient, effective and proactive way.
  • Strengthened your key stakeholder relationships to deliver great team work consistently.
  • Managing the Performance processes for the team from end to end, ensuring that your manager and wider team are regularly updated.

In 12 months

  • Taking on greater ownership for campaigns and clients – responsibility and volume.
  • Building strong relationships with publishers, representing the Wavemaker team appropriately and ensuring that campaigns are delivered to the highest quality
