An ICT Systems Analyst's job involves analyzing business processes and existing ICT systems to identify client needs, then designing, developing, and testing technical solutions to meet those needs. Key responsibilities include collaborating with our clients’ stakeholders to define system requirements, creating functional specifications for developers, developing, and executing system test plans, and providing guidance throughout the system development lifecycle. The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills to ensure system functionality and align IT solutions with business goals.
Key Responsibilities are;
• Analysis: Working with our customers, Investigate and evaluate current business processes, procedures, and ICT systems to find inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Requirements Gathering: Work with relevant client stakeholders to understand and define user and technical requirements for new or modified systems.
• System Design: Develop functional specifications and detailed system designs that system developers will use to build the solution meet customer requirements.
• Testing and Implementation: Create and implement test plans and test scenarios to ensure the quality and integrity of new or modified systems, and troubleshoot issues.
• Documentation and Training: Produce user and trainer documentation and conduct training sessions for new systems.
• Technical Guidance: Serve as a central point of reference, offering expertise and assistance to support decision-making during system projects.
Essential Skills
• Analytical and Problem-Solving: Ability to break down complex data and processes, identify problems, and devise effective, logical solutions.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in data and process modelling techniques, as well as a strong understanding of ICT systems.
• Project Management: Knowledge of project management methodologies to develop project plans, cost, resource, and manage projects effectively.
• Communication: Skilled in collaborating with stakeholders, providing guidance, and creating clear documentation.
• Business Process Knowledge: Understanding of how business needs translate into technical requirements.
Job Description
Work with users to formulate system requirements, develop system plans and documentation, review and evaluate existing systems, and design and modify systems to meet users’ business needs.
Tasks
• Working with users to formulate and document business requirements
• Identifying, investigating, and analysing business processes, procedures, and work practices
• Identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
• Using project management methodologies, principles, and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
• Taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting, and implementing system test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system
• Creating user and training documentation, and conducting formal training classes
• Developing functional specifications for use by system developers
• Using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
• Acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision making process
Additional activities:
• Maintenance supports including backups, updates and preparing and maintaining procedures and documentation of Client ICT requirements
• Coordinating with team lead for necessary procedures & guidelines.
• Coordinating with overseas clients for IT requirements.
• Intra-State visits as required for site survey and necessary supports.
• Providing support on development, in support of specific business needs and related ICT requirements
Qualification:
• Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Skills.
• Five Years of experience in ICT Systems Analyst with project management skills
Skills and Ability:
• Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised.
• Ability to work with flexible working hours (occasionally after office hours)
• Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Strong Understanding on new technologies.
• Highly developed communication and consultative skill and will be able to work collaboratively with other staffs across functions of the business
• Have strong customer service skills
