Our organization seeks an ICT Project Manager with a unique skill set. We're looking for an experienced software engineer who can seamlessly blend technical expertise with project management proficiency. This role is pivotal in managing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) projects, particularly in the development and implementation of complex automotive chassis systems.

The ICT Project Manager will participate within a cross functional team involved in vehicle Electric Power Steering (EPS) system component development and testing. They will be responsible for, and inform, the day-to-day resourcing, scheduling and task coordination of product development, vehicle dynamics and production teams to ensure the system is successfully integrated into the vehicle. This will involve planning and meeting project milestones, objectives and deliverables while exceeding the customer’s expectations by achieving their specific technical and program requirements. This role will also manage and coordinate responses to commercial and cost change requests which are part of the current program and additional future program opportunities.

The candidate will be working directly on location with the local team and its OEM customer and become the primary liaison to focus on interpreting and implementing customer vehicle system requirements. They will collaborate with the organizational roll out of solutions involving mechanical engineering, electronic and systems engineering, vehicle dynamics and development, commercial and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a field where vehicle calibration, system debugging, and problem-solving skills combine to improve overall vehicle driving experiences and customer outcomes. They will work well within a team orientated environment and being provided the challenges of projects that consist of complex mechatronic and electronic control systems.

Responsibilities
• • Provide full time, onsite office and work from home, customer project management and support, based in Victoria. Some overseas travel may be required from time to time.
• Support the application team manage Electric Power Steering systems (EPS) development programs.
• Understand and interpret complex customer systems and EPS functional specifications.
• Identify and document system and subsystem error states.
• Track and coordinate functional safety testing in an active proving ground environment, coordinate calibration release activities and support system and functional verification activities.
• Support EPS manufacturing and customer vehicle assembly plants with project management and leadership of problem-solving activities, as required.
• Work with other program management teams on impact assessment and prioritisation of change requests.

Requirements
• • Familiarity with vehicle chassis development and technology.
• Experience and familiarity with advanced automotive electronics and communication protocols (FlexRay and CAN)
• Experience in design and analysis of controlled systems, preferably in automotive domain across multiple generations.
• Exposure and familiarity with functional safety in an automotive environment.
• Familiarity with automotive OEM product development processes (eg. Ford GPDS) and customer specific requirements is an advantage.
• A current, valid Victorian motor vehicle drivers’ license is a must.

Skills
• • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with projects involving embedded systems and microcontrollers
• Experience with EPS system calibration and evaluation and familiarity with automotive interfaces (CAN, FlexRay, LIN etc.)
• An ability to read and understand embedded software (C and assembly language) and solid knowledge of Vector Tool sets (CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer, CANdela, VCDM). Proprietary tool communication with supporting scripting language experience an advantage.
• Support the project management processes and tools from pursuit of business through product launch and current production.
• Knowledge of system synthesis, analysis, and verification techniques.
• Excellent debug / troubleshooting skills with high level, effective written, verbal communication, presentation, and reporting skills with exposure to global cross functional teams’ interactions (production/development/test validation).
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.
• Ability to learn fast and adapt to an environment with dynamic process and program requirements.

Required experience
Proficient with contemporary project management tools, processes, and project timelines.
Extensive project background in transportation and / or automotive engineering, chassis systems (steering, braking, suspension) and system performance testing.
Fundamental understanding of vehicle dynamics, mechanical systems, electronic systems, and computer hardware and software to enable successful cross functional project collaboration and implementation.
Prior exposure to development of embedded systems and vehicle architecture, with prior knowledge of and experience of automotive EPS systems and architecture, will be highly regarded.
Working knowledge of CAN serial communications, including vehicle messaging and diagnostic service implementation tool sets.
Prior experience with a requirements, version, release and configuration management tools such as DOORs, JIRA and / or other proprietary systems.
Familiarity with formal problem-solving methodologies and skills (8D, Fishbone analysis, etc).
