Hydraulic Controls Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced, dedicated and qualified full time Fitter to join their team.

Positions Overview:
The Hydraulic Fitter is responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems and components in machinery and equipment. This role includes interpreting technical drawings and troubleshooting hydraulic systems, conducting tests, and ensuring that all hydraulic equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality and environmental standards.

The Hydraulic Fitter will actively contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace by adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Hydraulic System Assembly, Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade:
- Assemble and configure hydraulic systems and components (e.g.: pumps; valves; cylinders; hoses; tubes and filters) and sub-components (e.g.: springs; spools; seals; poppets; etc) in accordance with technical specifications, drawings, Bills of Materials and schematics.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to understand system requirements and specifications.
- Pressure and functional testing of hydraulic manifolds and systems.
- Setting of hydraulic components to specified parameters (e.g.: pressure of flow)
- Test, fault finding, strip down & diagnose hydraulic systems returned from the field.
- Adjust settings during operations as needed to optimise production rates and ensure quality standards are met
2. Machine Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the production process.
- Adjust, and calibrate hydraulic machines and test benches.
- Select & change fixtures and equipment necessary for each job.
- Perform routine maintenance on hydraulic machines, including cleaning, lubricating, oil management and replacing worn parts.
- Identify and resolve machine-related issues promptly & report any unresolved issues to supervisor.

Qualifications & Attributes:
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with workshop machine operation (e.g.: lathes; grinders; etc).
- Proficiency with measuring instruments (e.g.: callipers; pressure, temperature and flow gauges; etc) and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in an equivalent working environment.
- Experience with ISO or other relevant quality management systems is desirable.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Adherence to safety standards and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to adjust to evolving production requirements and changing technologies.
- Collaborative mindset, willing to work with cross-functional teams to optimise processes.
- Able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Passion for producing high-quality work and continuous improvement in production processes.

A remuneration package is between $70,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation, negotiated depending on skills and experience.
