Managing daily operations of the Housekeeping Department:
• Oversees housekeeping operations, supervises cleanliness and hygiene across rooms, cabins, and public areas.
• Coordinates with maintenance teams, ensures accommodation and recreational and utility areas are properly maintained, and enforces guest / staff security measures.
Formulating and monitoring budgets and financial plans regarding the Housekeeping Department inline with the overall budget set by the Park Manager:
• Monitors supply costs, controls stock levels such as linen, cleaning products, and amenities, orders supplies in a cost-effective manner, reduces wastage, and ensures supplies meet operational demand.
• and procurement, reports variances.
• Aligns staffing levels with wage budgets and contributes to budget planning for operational efficiency.
• Prepares and adjusts rosters based on occupancy rates, peak seasons, staff absences, and Fair Work obligations, ensuring efficient coverage while managing costs.
Planning, Recruitment, Training and Supervision of staff:
• Leads housekeeping staff, assigning daily shift plans and supervision.
• Recruits and trains staff in customer service, and compliance.
• Work with the Park Manager and Office Manager to ensure all housekeeping aligns with guest check-in/out, bookings.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations:
• Train staff in chemical handling safety, PPE requirements, cleaning techniques, hygiene, infection control and workplace safety procedures.
• Conduct compliance monitoring and corrective action and report to the Park Manager any required improvements.
• Maintains staff training logs, workplace safety records, compliance documentation, and guest service reports, ensuring the business meets regulatory and audit requirements.
Monitoring guest satisfaction and handling complaints:
• Actively respond to guest queries and complaints, implements service improvements, and ensures rooms and amenities meet business presentation standards, leading to high levels of guest satisfaction. Report any complaints to the Park Manager and discuss with other Heads of Departments.
Provide guests with information about local attractions and arranging tours and transport:
• Assists guests by coordinating with reception to provide information about Busselton attractions, wineries, beaches, and cultural sites, and arranging transport or activity bookings as required.
