Through our Housing Pathways Program (Courts), we walk alongside people navigating the justice system who are also facing the complexities of homelessness. We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and committed professional who wants to be part of a program that does more than house people — it empowers them. About The Role As a Homelessness Worker, you’ll be a vital support for clients referred through Court Services Victoria, including individuals exiting prison on bail or participating in Drug Court. You’ll help them stabilise their lives, access safe housing, and take meaningful steps toward independence — all while advocating for justice, inclusion, and dignity. Reporting to the Housing Pathways Program (Courts) Team Leader, this is a fixed-term part-time position, 22.8 hours per week, contracted for 12 months, based in Coburg North, VIC. Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5. Key Responsibilities Deliver trauma-informed outreach case management to clients referred via the justice system Develop and monitor tailored housing and support plans aligned with client goals Advocate for client access to housing, financial support, and community services Support individuals impacted by family violence with flexible support packages Build collaborative partnerships with housing providers, courts, and local agencies You Will Have A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related community services field (degree preferred) Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, family violence, or complex needs Knowledge of the justice system and/or experience in correctional environments (highly desirable) Strong relationship-building skills across a diverse network of services A heart for working with people from all walks of life, grounded in compassion, integrity, and respect An Employee Working with Children Check A current Driver’s Licence What We Offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts Ready to Walk Alongside People on Their Journey Home?
