To meet growing demand, we are expanding our operations and seeking qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our dynamic team in Brisbane, QLD.

About the Role

As a Diesel Mechanic at BCI, you will play a vital role in maintaining and servicing our fleet of buses and heavy vehicles. You’ll work in a fast-paced, supportive environment, carrying out diagnostic assessments, performing mechanical repairs, and ensuring vehicles meet our high standards of safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general servicing and maintenance of buses and heavy vehicles, including lighting system checks and scheduled preventative maintenance.

• Carry out thorough safety inspections in accordance with standardized inspection checklists.

• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and complete mechanical repairs, providing customers with accurate repair time estimates.

• Conduct diagnostic testing to identify faults in vehicle systems.

• Interpret and analyse diagnostic test results to determine appropriate repair actions.

• Replace or repair faulty or worn-out vehicle components.

• Overhaul, service, and repair engines, steering assemblies, transmissions, and braking systems.

• Conduct road tests to evaluate vehicle performance and verify the effectiveness of repairs.

• Perform wheel alignments and balancing to ensure optimal handling and safety.

• Maintain accurate service records and manage a detailed inventory of parts and components.

• Keep workshop equipment in good condition and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Carry out final quality control checks on all completed work to meet performance and safety standards.

Key Requirements

• Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering is highly regarded.

• ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.

• Valid driver's license.

• Aptitude for mathematics and science.

• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.

• Good IT and diagnostic skills.

• Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds.

• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.

• Attention to detail.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Good organization skills.
