About
About us HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that exists to improve quality of life for people in need. We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services. HammondCare seeks to embed evidence-based best practice in its services, and we provide these services through home care, sub-acute hospitals and residential aged care. Bringing these health, hospital and aged care services together, HammondCare has been able to develop innovative, flexible care models designed to serve people with complex health or aged care needs, regardless of their circumstances. Essence of the role The Head of Innovation & Foundation is a delivery and impact leader; responsible for turning strategy into action, ensuring innovation, research evidence and compassionate care initiatives are translated into practice, funded sustainably, and communicated through compelling stories and partnerships. This role provides strong operational, people, and partnership leadership across two interdependent portfolios, Hammond Innovations and the Hammond Foundation — with a focus on implementation, adoption, capability building, policy influence, and measurable outcomes. In partnership with the Innovation GM, who leads innovation strategy, commercial and technology partnerships, and manages the innovation pipeline — this role ensures that innovations and research are embedded into care practice, supported by philanthropy, partnerships, advocacy and change leadership. Together, both roles create a seamless pathway from discovery to delivery and impact. This role will: Drive execution excellence across both portfolios; leading people, projects, and partnerships to translate strategic plans into measurable outcomes. Oversee the implementation and adoption of innovation and research evidence, supporting practice change, capability uplift and culture embedding across HammondCare’s services and centres. Manage philanthropic investment and stewardship, spanning innovation pilots, research initiatives, compassionate care programs (such as Dreams and the Care Fund) and major capital campaigns. Build systems, relationships and leadership capability to enable practice change, operational delivery and sustainable funding. Support policy positioning, advocacy and sector engagement, ensuring HammondCare’s research, innovation and care insights contribute to reform influence and system shaping. Create a unified approach to impact, ensuring that stories, partnerships and resources flow seamlessly between innovation, research, compassionate care and sector reform. Education, Experience and Skills Commitment to HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation, and Mission in Action. Proven senior leadership experience driving operational delivery, practice change and execution of strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Demonstrated ability to lead people, manage programs and sustain partnerships across health, aged care, research, philanthropic or not-for-profit settings. Experience translating innovation, research or evidence-based practice into real-world implementation and service improvement. Understanding of how philanthropy, partnerships and donor engagement can support innovation, research and compassionate care initiatives.
