  • Your New Role
  • Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the Head of Enterprise Risk is a key member of AustralianSuper’s Fund-wide Senior Leadership team and the Group Risk Senior Leadership team.
  • This role will lead the Enterprise Risk function, execution of the operational management of the department including policies, processes, colleague experience, reputation, relationships, governance and risks of the Enterprise Risk department and Group Risk in the context of the wider Fund.
  • The Head of Enterprise Risk is responsible for developing mechanisms to ensure good governance across the Fund and provide thought leadership and strategic direction.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with Australian regulators to ensure compliance with regulatory risk requirements
  • Refine and mature frameworks, policies, and standards across the Fund’s global operations
  • Accountable for developing risk training content and evaluation frameworks for broad enterprise-wide topics related to RMS, Risk culture, RAS etc, and evaluate effectiveness of the results
  • Lead the annual review of the Fund’s Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Management Strategy
  • Generate risk reports for internal and external stakeholders including Board, Risk and Compliance Committee and regulatory bodies
  • Identify capability gaps and ongoing training needs for risk management across the Fund, working with the Colleagues & Culture team to deliver appropriate training
  • Support the Fund’s approach to measuring and uplifting risk culture and managing conduct risk, including oversight of interventions and providing input into risk management components of the performance management framework
  • What You’ll Need
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a combination of leadership, as well as management and/or strategy roles, with a proven track-record of success in leadership positions
  • Regulated industry experience, ideally in financial services
  • Experience working in or leading reporting, financial, communications, brand, capability, vendor management, and risk/ governance functions
  • Highly developed leadership and people management capabilities, including developing high-performing, sustainable teams and culture, driving performance and behavioural outcomes through others
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Innovative, creative and curious with a strong growth mindset
  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
