The Opportunity

This role is more than just managing a team; it’s about transformation. You will be responsible for defining and implementing the company’s cloud platform strategy. Your primary goal is to empower the development teams, providing them with the tools and services they need to innovate and support the business's future growth.

You'll be a hands-on leader, providing technical guidance while also cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. We’re looking for a decisive leader with a "bias for action," someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and introduce disruptive technology and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing cloud platform team.

• Strategy and Governance: Own the cloud platform strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and maintains robust governance and security standards.

• Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on guidance in designing, deploying, and optimising cloud architectures.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a champion for cloud technology, effectively communicating its benefits to project teams, executives, and the wider organisation.

• Financial Management: Implement effective FinOps practices to ensure cost-effective and efficient cloud solutions.

• Security: Embed security as a foundational element in all cloud architecture and operations.

• Change Management: Lead your team in delivering technology change and providing operational support to meet evolving business needs.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a technology-focused role, with significant financial and people management accountability.

• A proven track record of driving performance through accountability and fostering a high-performance culture.

• Significant experience in large enterprise environments, leveraging technology to solve complex operational challenges.

• Demonstrated success in implementing operational efficiency and business process enhancements.

• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of legislative frameworks (e.g., APRA) is preferred.

• Tertiary qualifications are preferred.
