About the Position:
The Hairdresser role at Forster Barber PTY LTD is essential to delivering the barbershop's core services, focusing on providing expert hair cutting, styling, and grooming to male clients (and others as required). This full-time position contributes directly to the business's success by ensuring every client leaves looking and feeling their best, building repeat business through personalised care, and maintaining the high standards of hygiene and presentation that define the shop. The role offers the opportunity to work in a busy retail setting while honing technical skills and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional advice on hair care, suitable hairstyles, and grooming products to clients.
Shampoo hair, condition scalps, and prepare clients for services.
Cut, style, colour, straighten, or permanently wave hair using scissors, clippers, razors, and chemical solutions as appropriate.
Shave and trim beards and moustaches to client specifications.
Perform additional styling such as braids, dreadlocks, or adding hair extensions where requested.
Clean and sanitise work areas, tools, and instruments after each use to maintain hygiene standards.
Arrange client appointments, manage bookings, and handle payments efficiently.
Build positive relationships with clients to encourage loyalty and referrals.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Certificate in hairdressing, hairstyling, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as a hairdresser.
Strong technical skills in men's hair cutting, styling, beard grooming, and use of relevant tools and products.
