Position Description – Group Beverage Manager - DESERT SHIP PTY LTD

We’re opening positions for talented individuals to join our fabulous team.
- full time position
- salary starting at $76,515.00 per year, plus superannuation

Tasks and Duties:

• Design and curate seasonal and year-round beverage menus for all establishments within the group.
• Collaborate with culinary teams to develop complementary food and drink pairings.
• Monitor industry trends to innovate and keep beverage programs fresh and on-brand.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with beverage suppliers, distributors, and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to ensure competitive costs and quality control.
• Source new beverage products and manage supplier contracts across the group.
• Oversee the purchasing, storage, and distribution of all beverage items across all locations.
• Implement inventory control practices to reduce waste, maintain accurate stock levels, and maximize profitability.
• Regularly review stock levels and assist in coordinating orders as needed.
• Develop and manage the beverage budget for the entire group.
• Analyse beverage sales performance, track KPIs, and adjust strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Ensure cost control measures are adhered to, focusing on maximizing profitability without compromising quality.
• Design and implement training programs for bar staff and management on product knowledge, customer service, and efficient operations.
• Provide ongoing support and education to bar teams to ensure consistency in drink quality and service standards.
• Mentor and develop future leaders within the beverage team.
• Ensure compliance with local and national alcohol regulations and health & safety standards.
• Create and enforce operational procedures to streamline beverage service across all locations.
• Conduct regular audits of beverage service, presentation, and quality.
• Work closely with the marketing team to design promotional campaigns and special events to drive beverage sales.
• Develop and oversee the execution of seasonal drink menus, special events, and drink related promotions.
• Track the success of marketing initiatives and adjust strategies based on performance.
• Ensure the beverage offerings meet or exceed customer expectations, enhancing the overall dining and drinking experience.
• Collaborate with the customer service team to address any guest feedback related to
beverage quality and service.
• Undertake occasional travel to various locations if required for site visits, staff training, and meetings.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including chefs, managers, marketing, to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and goals.

Qualifications and skills:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma, plus 1 year of related experience.
• 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
• Extensive knowledge of beverage trends, cocktail culture, and the food and beverage industry.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and profit margin management.
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A passion for beverages and the hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and operational excellence.
• Ability to work independently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
