Dowsing (NSW) has an opening for a Grinding - Grooving Machine Operator. This role is responsible for operating highly specialized equipment used for concrete surface preparation, including the PC6000EC Highway Grinder, and requires a strong commitment to safety, precision, and performance.

The optimal candidate will have experience with runway grooving, concrete profile grinding, bridge deck grooving and rumble strips. With the volume of projects our company has and the fact that we are a service focused company, the ideal candidate must be flexible and eager to learn. A clean motor vehicle record and a valid HC driver’s license are a must. Employees are expected to strictly adhere to the safety policies practiced throughout the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate & maintain specialized diamond bladed grinding and grooving equipment
Operate articulated trucks with HC license
Interpret plans and specifications to execute grooving and grinding to required tolerances
Collaborate with the crew to ensure efficient workflow and safe job site practices
Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on grinding and support equipment
Drive and manoeuvre articulated support trucks, including water tankers
Accurately complete production logs, timekeeping records, and job site documentation
Be self-motivated and dependable
Perform other general duties and provide assistance to team members, as directed by the supervisor, from time to time

Essential Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience operating heavy machinery in construction or pavement grinding; specifically working within the highway profile grinding industry
Must possess a valid HC license
Good physical fitness and stamina to work long hours in physically demanding environments
Maintain strict adherence to all occupational health and safety protocols
Have mechanical and technical aptitude
Must have the ability to travel frequently for multi-day or extended projects, including night and weekend shifts as needed
Have a stable work history
Valid White Card
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests

Initial role requirement is for a NSW based worker, but there will be future opportunities in QLD, VIC and WA.
