Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Grain, Oilseed or Pasture Grower on behalf of our client, Hillcroft Farms Pty Ltd, a fully integrated broadacre cropping and piggery operation based in Lol Gray, Western Australia.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an individual with a strong agronomic and practical background in grain, oilseed, or pasture production, ideally with experience supporting livestock feed systems.

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and managing all stages of crop production. The cropping program at Hillcroft Farms underpins both commercial grain operations and the internal feed supply chain for the piggery, making this role central to the farm’s year-round productivity.
Crops include wheat, barley, legumes, oilseeds, and various pasture varieties used for grazing and hay production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Aligned with the ANZSCO 121512 – Grain, Oilseed or Pasture Grower, duties will include:
• Planning and coordinating planting, fertilising, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting activities for grain, oilseed, and pasture crops
• Operating, overseeing, and maintaining a range of broadacre machinery and implements including seeders, sprayers, harvesters, and tractors
• Monitoring crop development, soil health, moisture levels, and pest/disease pressure
• Managing fertiliser and chemical application programs in line with agronomic advice and regulations
• Implementing effective crop rotation and pasture renewal strategies to maintain productivity and soil fertility
• Recording and analysing production data, input usage, and yield outcomes
• Supervising seasonal or casual farm workers during peak operational periods such as sowing and harvest
• Maintaining and overseeing the upkeep of infrastructure such as irrigation systems, fences, and on-farm storage facilities
• Ensuring all farming activities comply with environmental regulations, biosecurity protocols, and WHS standards

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
• Hold an AQF Certificate III or higher in Agriculture, Cropping, Agronomy, or a related field, and have at least 1 year of post-qualification relevant work experience; OR
• Have at least 3 years of full-time (38+ hours/week) relevant work experience in grain, oilseed, or pasture crop production
Essential Requirements:
• Extensive practical experience in broadacre cropping operations
• Ability to plan and implement crop cycles and seasonal farm schedules
• Sound understanding of agronomic principles including nutrient management, soil health, and crop protection
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to operate and maintain modern cropping machinery
• Good working knowledge of WHS and environmental compliance requirements
• Familiarity with GPS, auto-steer, and precision agriculture tools (desirable)
• Competent record-keeping and reporting skills
• Valid manual driver’s licence; machinery or forklift tickets are an advantage
