Our client, Ramps Ridge Services Pty Ltd, operates a large-scale farming enterprise covering approximately 3,547 hectares in the Riverina region. Alongside livestock and cropping operations, the business requires skilled professionals to support its grain processing and feed production operations, ensuring high-quality outputs that are consistent with industry standards and market demand.
Nationally accredited under the National Feedlot Assurance System (NFAS) and approved for all major global markets, the business runs an integrated feed program that relies on consistent, high-quality stockfeed production.
The client is seeking a reliable and experienced Grain Mill Worker (Livestock Feed) to operate milling and mixing equipment and perform routine processing tasks to convert grains and by-products into meal, pellets and custom rations for livestock. This full-time role supports daily feedlot and grazing operations by ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant stockfeed manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate grain processing equipment (e.g., hammer/roller mills, mixers, pellet press, screw/drag conveyors) to produce livestock feed (meal, mash, pellets).
• Weigh, measure, and mix grains and micro-ingredients (e.g., minerals, vitamins, buffers, approved preservatives/molasses) per ration sheets.
• Monitor product quality by inspecting, sampling and adjusting moisture, grind size, conditioning, and dwell times to meet feed specs.
• Regulate conveyor speeds and rollers to optimise throughput and extraction/conditioning; clear blockages safely when required.
• Clean and sanitise equipment, bins, augers, pits and work areas; implement infestation control and housekeeping (dust control).
• Package and/or load out finished feed (bagged and bulk) and move product to storage/dispatch areas in line with production schedules.
• Keep accurate batch, ingredient, and production records and follow traceability and QA/HACCP procedures.
• Assist with basic maintenance (belt/chain tension, screens, lubrications) and report faults promptly.
• Comply with WH&S, biosecurity, and NFAS requirements at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
• AQF Certificate I or in Food Processing, Agriculture, or a related field (at least 2 years of relevant on-the-job experience may substitute).
• Proven experience in grain milling, food processing, or feed production.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and maintain grain processing machinery.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and food safety procedures.
• Ability to follow production schedules and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product standards.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
