This position will participate in the service delivery, management and education within the CT department of St Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR) and support the Grade 4 Medical Imaging Technologist. Fulfil clinical duties through performing a diverse range of routine and complex CT examinations to a high diagnostic standard, with a level of independence and expertise of a senior clinician. Demonstrate an extensive level of technical ability, knowledge and experience within all areas of CT, including advanced techniques. Supervise an area of the department, working in collaboration with the Grade 4 Medical Imaging Technologist and other members of the senior SVPR team. Ability to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment, promoting a positive and supportive culture. Provide clinical supervision and training within the CT modality. Classifications for this position will range from AT6 - AT9 ($104,135 - $118,981 per annum). St. Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR) is a comprehensive private radiology service, operating out of two locations within the Fitzroy campus. SVPR provides imaging services to St. Vincent Private Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and private outpatients, including diagnostic imaging and procedural examinations. The SVPR CT department consists of two CT scanners located in the SVPR- East Tower and one CT scanner located in the SVPR- Basement, completing a range of diagnostic and procedural examinations. LOCAL WORK ENVIRONMENT St. Vincent’s Medical Imaging Department (MID) is a tertiary imaging department providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services to SVHM’s inpatients and outpatients. St Vincent’s Medical Imaging (MI) provides four comprehensive diagnostic imaging programs across four campus sites: Medical Imaging Department (MID) St Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR)- Basement & East Tower Magnetic Resonance Imaging Centre (MRI) Positron Emission Tomography Centre (PET) The department provides 150,000+ image guided therapies yearly across campus to support and facilitate the quaternary services provided by SVHM. All diagnostic modalities are offered, including PET/CT, which is fully integrated into the Medical Imaging Department. Interventional services include general and vascular procedures and interventional neuroradiology. Similarly, diagnostic imaging and procedural interventions are provided to the state based Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma service, Cardiac Catheter Labs, Vascular Labs and Operating Suites. SVPR provides imaging services to St. Vincent Private Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and private outpatients, including diagnostic imaging and procedural examinations. The SVPR CT department consists of two CT scanners located in the SVPR- East Tower and one CT scanner located in the SVPR- Basement, completing a range of diagnostic and procedural examinations. POSITION PURPOSE Provision of Computed Tomography (CT) imaging services to the patients of St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, demonstrating leadership, specialist knowledge and experience. This position will participate in the service delivery, management and education within the CT department of St Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR), and support the Grade 4 Medical Imaging Technologist. As a senior clinician, this position will perform duties across the clinical and education areas of expertise. POSITION DUTIES Fulfil clinical duties through performing a diverse range of routine and complex CT examinations to a high diagnostic standard, with a level of independence and expertise of a senior clinician. Demonstrate an extensive level of technical ability, knowledge and experience within all areas of CT, including advanced techniques. Produce quality imaging examinations in a safe environment, demonstrating clinical excellence. Actively participate in stock management and administrative processes within CT, including workflow and scheduling. Participate in an in-hours and out-of-hours roster within SVPR, including on-call if required. Ability to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment, promoting a positive and supportive culture. Supervise an area of the department, working in collaboration with other members of the senior SVPR team. Provide clinical supervision and training to Grade 1 and Grade 2 employees. Teach under-graduate students, post-graduate students and/ or interns, primarily in a clinical setting. Provide education to staff from other professions as appropriate. Assist in staff orientation, the development and execution of training programs within the CT modality. In conjunction with other modality seniors, actively engage in the performance development program for staff, providing constructive feedback and supporting development goals and learning across the team. Participate in quality improvement activities, quality assurance and accreditation preparation within Medical Imaging. Assist in the production of documentation, and education/ training materials within this modality. Assist with administrative tasks, including development and maintenance of policies and procedures, protocols and audits. To ensure a level of patient care so that the patient’s comfort, dignity and safety are maintained at all times. Demonstrate safety in the workplace and as per SVHM policies, including radiation and MRI safety, so that a safe environment is maintained for patients, staff, students and visitors SELECTION CRITERIA ESSENTIAL REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation or equivalent. AHPRA registration. Victorian Radiation use licence or eligibility to hold a licence. OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated extensive or advanced clinical competency in CT. Demonstrated leadership skills, promoting a positive and supportive environment. Prior experience in the supervision of undergraduate radiography students. Prior experience in clinical supervision, including training and/or teaching. Demonstration of organisational skills, particularly with respect to time management and delegation. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal and team work skills. Demonstrate an ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
