About

Description: We are an international ecommerce company in the diabetes health sector, shipping product to the U.S., EU, UK, and Australia. Currently, we rely heavily on DHL Express, but rising costs, retrospective billing (duties/taxes), and inefficiencies have highlighted the urgent need to review, restructure, and optimize our shipping, customs, and tariff processes. We’re seeking an experienced consultant who can audit our current logistics + compliance setup, recommend alternative shipping methods (freight forwarders, consolidators, bonded warehouses, etc.), and help us implement a cost-efficient, compliant, and predictable structure across regions. Key Responsibilities: Shipping & Freight Strategy Evaluate our DHL Express costs and identify viable alternatives (air freight, sea freight, hybrid express/freight solutions, 3PLs, etc.). Propose cost-saving solutions while maintaining reliability for shipments to the U.S., EU, UK, and AU. Customs, Duties & Tariffs Review our current HS codes and tariff classifications for accuracy. Help us eliminate/reduce retrospective duty/tax surprises. Guide us on structuring shipments (Delivered Duty Paid vs Delivered at Place, Importer of Record setup, duty deferment programs). Entity & Tax/Transfer Pricing Alignment Advise on best practices for aligning shipping with our multi-entity structure (AU HQ, U.S. entity, EU distribution, etc.). Ensure compliance with transfer pricing rules while reducing unnecessary tax exposure. Recommend duty optimization programs (e.g., continuous bonds in the U.S., EU duty suspension regimes, free trade agreements). Process & Compliance Create clear processes to ensure duties/taxes are billed timely and predictably. Improve our internal reporting so shipping costs align with P&L by entity. Ensure ongoing compliance with customs and tax authorities. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in international shipping/logistics optimization for ecommerce or consumer goods. Strong knowledge of customs regulations in U.S., EU, UK, and Australia. Familiarity with transfer pricing and multi-entity tax structuring. Ability to recommend practical, actionable changes (not just theory). Track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements. Why This Matters: Late billing, high express fees, and lack of predictability make it difficult to manage expenses and remain competitive. We need a trusted expert to help us design and implement a shipping structure that saves money, ensures compliance, and gives us certainty in planning.
