Retail Manager (General)

Salary: $78,000 /per year

Position Overview

EZBox sports is the premier destination for sports enthusiasts in the area, specializing in badminton, tennis, table tennis, and outdoor sports. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Retail Manager to lead our team and oversee the complete operation of our store and club facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who lives and breathes sports, particularly racquet sports. You will be responsible for driving sales, managing inventory of specialized sporting goods, leading our retail team, and supporting the club's activities to ensure both commercial success and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

o Curate our inventory of badminton, tennis, table tennis, and outdoor sports equipment and apparel. Analyse sales data to forecast trends and ensure optimal stock levels to meet the needs of beginners to seasoned professionals.
o Manage relationships with key suppliers (e.g., Yonex, Wilson, Butterfly). Develop and execute local marketing initiatives, promotions, and events to drive foot traffic and club membership.
o Leverage community engagement, in-store promotions, and digital channels to promote both retail products and club facilities (court bookings, coaching, memberships).
o Provide high-level, expert advice to customers on equipment selection. Lead your team to become product experts who can confidently advise on all gear.
o Oversee daily financial operations, including POS management, banking, and reporting. Utilize retail management systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
o Assist in preparing and managing the store’s budget, controlling costs, and driving profitability.
o Recruit, train, mentor, and roster our team of knowledgeable and friendly retail staff. Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and deep product knowledge.
o Maintain a safe environment for staff, customers, and club members, ensuring both the retail space and court facilities meet all safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

o A Diploma or above
o A minimum of 1 year of experience in retail management or supervisory role.
o Strong passion and knowledge for sports particularly badminton, tennis, or table tennis, is an advantage.
o Outstanding customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
o Must be fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (required to effectively service customers and communicate with suppliers).
