Full Time Retail Manager

SUMMARY
Are you a dynamic retail leader with a passion for driving excellence in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment? WA Petroleum Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead the heart of our operations at the iconic Petrol station with Hillview Roadhouse & Motel.
This is a unique hands-on opportunity to take full ownership of our bustling fuel, convenience store, restaurant, and retail offerings. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the customer experience, leading a dedicated team, and directly impacting our business success on the Albany Highway.

Key Responsibilities
a) Operational Leadership & Compliance
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fuel station, convenience store, Motel and Restaurant.
• Ensure full compliance with all health & safety regulations, HACCP food handling guidelines, and fuel/gas safety standards.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation throughout the retail facility.
• Conduct regular site audits and implement corrective actions.

b) Team Leadership & Development
• Lead the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of retail staff.
• Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on exceptional customer service.
• Develop and implement service standards through coaching, supervision, and feedback.

c) Financial & Stock Management
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies for retail operations.
• Oversee daily financial transactions, cash handling, and accurate record-keeping.
• Manage inventory levels, purchasing, and supplier relationships to optimise stock turnover and minimise waste.
• Analyse sales data and trends to inform product mix decisions and identify commercial opportunities.

d) Sales, Marketing & Customer Experience
• Proactively address customer feedback and monitor online review platforms.
• Develop and execute local marketing initiatives (e.g., in-store promotions, local advertising, tourist guides).
• Ensure effective in-store merchandising and promotional displays to maximise sales.
• Build strong relationships with the local community and traveller base.

e) Reporting & Administration
• Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Operations Manager.
• Maintain accurate records for stock, sales, and compliance activities.

Qualifications & Experience
• A relevant Diploma qualification, OR at least 3 years of significant, directly relevant experience.
Essential Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail management role, preferably within fuel/convenience, hospitality, or fast-paced retail.
• Proven experience in staff supervision, financial management, and inventory control.
