Key Responsibilities:
As a Plant or Production Engineer, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
•Designing, configuring, and optimising production systems, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes across SMT, through-hole, and test operations, including strong hands-on setup and technical validation of equipment and process parameters
• Analysing production workflows, yield data, and operational performance to identify inefficiencies and implementing engineering improvements directly on the production floor
• Direct involvement in PCB assembly, soldering, fine-pitch rework, inspection, and functional testing where engineering validation and quality control is required
• Developing and implementing process control measures to improve quality, throughput, and equipment utilisation, including physical trials and in-process adjustments
• Supporting new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and first-article validation through direct involvement in build, testing, and process verification activities
• Conducting detailed root-cause analysis on production defects, equipment faults, and test failures, including hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and corrective implementation
• Participating directly in equipment setup, process validation, complex rework activities, testing, and build/debug of electronic assemblies where engineering expertise is required
• Assisting in preventative maintenance planning and undertaking technical assessment and calibration verification of production equipment
• Providing technical training, guidance, and performance support to operators and technicians on equipment operation, soldering, rework, inspection, and testing procedures to maintain consistent workmanship and compliance with industry standards.
• Evaluating factory layout, equipment placement, material flow, and production schedules to optimise throughput, minimise downtime, and ensure effective integration of personnel, machinery, and manufacturing processes.
• Establishing and maintaining engineering, quality, and safety standards for installation, modification, inspection, testing, and maintenance, while leading root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve process, yield, and equipment issues.
The Ideal Candidate
