Positions vacant: Full time Metal Fabricators and Welders (First Class)

Italsteel is currently seeking experienced Metal Fabricators and Welders (First Class) at our operations in Maddington on a full time basis.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, our Metal Fabricators and Welders are responsible for:
• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and fabricate/ weld to a precise tolerance
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Read constructing base templates if necessary
• Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
• Setting up and maintain metalwork machinery including measuring devices, callipers, rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work Fabricating and constructing metal components
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Undertake and adapt to required welding styles (ie vertical up, etc)
• Operate a grinding and finishing completed products
• Review welds to ensure they comply with the specification
• Performing quality checks on completed products
• Comply with all health & safety processes
• Completing job reports

To be considered for these roles, it is essential to have the following skills and experience:
· Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
· A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant work experience as a Metal Fabricator or Welder
· Advance knowledge of industrial metalwork
· Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
· Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including measuring devices (squares, callipers, tap measure, ruler) , shears, rollers, flame cutters, drill presses, have advanced mathematical and engineering skills
. Ability to use and manipulate MIG based welding equipment (TIG, MMA, etc)
· Ability to lift and manipulate large metal object.
· Ability to stand for long periods
· Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
· Able to pass Drug & Alcohol and Medical Screening
· Forklift and overhead gantry crane ticket an advantage.

Estimated base salary earnings from $76,515.00 per annum plus superannuation.
