Information & Technology Coordinator
Full-Time (38 ordinary hours per week)
SALARY $80,000 per annum (base salary) + Superannuation
DUTIES
• Collaborate with academic leaders, faculty members, and administrative teams to identify and document business and system requirements, applying Agile project management methodologies to support academic and operational processes across Alliance College.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise reports and dashboards in Power BI and Excel to deliver data visualisations that inform decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives within academic and corporate services.
• Monitor data integrity and troubleshoot discrepancies or errors across integrated systems (e.g. Student Management System, Learning Management System, ERP and CRM platforms such as Workday, Dynamics 365, and Office 365), providing recommendations to enhance system functionalities and operational workflows.
• Generate and distribute regular reports on student enrolments, academic progression, class scheduling, exam timetables, and other key operational metrics for use by senior management, faculty, and the finance team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all course structures, delivery modes, and assessment systems offered by Alliance College, and create technical documentation and user guides to support system transitions (e.g. from Blackboard to MyLearn/Canvas).
• Manage and maintain core information systems and databases, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with institutional data governance policies and relevant legislative requirements (including data privacy and cybersecurity standards).
• Support the planning, scheduling, and implementation of IT-enabled service improvement projects, including college-wide timetabling and scheduling initiatives, and collect data to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of these projects.
• Design and execute SQL queries and perform data analysis to identify trends, generate forecasts, and produce ad hoc reports for senior leadership and operational teams.
• Champion an Agile and collaborative approach to IT service delivery, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous capability development across the organisation.
• Participate in governance and steering committee meetings as required, capturing stakeholder requirements, preparing acceptance criteria, and reporting on project progress.
• Develop and deliver user documentation, process workflows, and formal training sessions to build staff capability in utilising data analysis, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
• Take accountability for implementing effective and user-focused technology solutions that support strategic planning, business intelligence, and operational excellence at Alliance College
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience within the higher education or VET sector.
• Advanced proficiency in Office 365 applications, including strong expertise in Excel and SQL database management.
• Proven experience in using Microsoft Power BI to perform data analysis and create interactive dashboards and visualisations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
• Sound understanding of ASQA and TEQSA regulatory compliance requirements and their application within academic administration.
• Positive, proactive, and collaborative attitude, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
