Bar Nina, Phix Hospitality Pty Ltd is looking for experienced Chef to join our restaurant in Darlinghurst, 2010. If you have a passion for cooking exceptional food and interested to enhance your skills, then you are fit for this job. The successful candidate will be working in the kitchen with our team and will oversee overall food preparations.
The correct candidate will be paid a salary between the range of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Plan and organise the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items in line with Bar Nina’s recipes and presentation standards.
• Develop and introduce new menu items and seasonal specials that reflect the venue’s style and customer preferences.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to ensure high standards are always maintained.
• Provide training to cooks and kitchen hands and evaluate their performance.
• Checking and managing stock and order with suppliers as required for daily food preparation.
• Assist in cost control through effective waste minimisation and efficient use of ingredients.
• Oversee the cleaning of work surfaces and other kitchens equipment to ensure that the necessary hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen.
• Liaise with the Restaurant Manager on menu planning, daily specials, and event catering requirements.
• Participate in regular management meetings to discuss menu performance, staff development, and service improvements
• Prepare weekly staff rosters.

What you'll require is:
• 2 years or more in a similar position in a busy environment.
• Certificate IV or Higher Qualification related to cookery, kitchen management or hospitality management (preferred)
• Excellent people skills and a suitable attitude the capacity to lead, grow, and collaborate with a large team.
• Industry enthusiasm.
• Being able to take the initiative and lead in these practical roles a strong sense of finance and the willingness to go above and beyond.
