Duties:

• Reading design, and line diagrams to install equipment and cable as per scope of work.
• Performing rod-and-rope activities to verify duct integrity and establish pulling routes
• Hauling fibre or copper cables through newly installed and legacy duct systems
• Identifying blockages, bends, or obstructions during rod and roping
• Ensuring safe handling practices and maintaining proper pulling tensions
• Coordinating with field teams to complete cable installation efficiently
• Hauling the cables in external networks and in building.
• Conducting site assessment and proving the pit and pipes.
• Termination of data and optical cables at carriers’ equipment or at customers’ premises
• Jointing copper and optical fibre cables in accordance with network standards
• Using mechanical port closures, dome closures, and heat shrink port enclosures
• Ensuring proper sealing, strain relief, and environmental protection
• Preparing, stripping, and terminating cables to required specifications
• Testing and verifying continuity and optical performance after jointing
• Installing new 5G wireless project for different carriers and upgrading optical and microwave transmission links for wireless huts (optional)
• Using telecommunication equipment to troubleshoot and locate faults and repairing them
• Utilising OTDRs, light meters, TDRs, and other telecom test tools
• Performing end to end fault diagnostics on fibre and copper networks
• Locating breaks, attenuation points, and performance degradation
• Completing repairs and verifying service restoration
• Using telecommunication test equipment to test and commission installed services
• Installation and working on carriers’ transmission equipment
• Installing telecommunications equipment and appliances such as telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment
• Termination DC equipment power and test them using multimeter
• Fill forms and reports required as per job description
• Analyzing worksite and identify hazards and induct your team daily
• Fault investigation and rectification skills using OTDR, PON, and Ethernet tester
• Conducting tests on fibres while preserving live traffic flow.
• Splicing on active fibre joints
• Maintaining service integrity during live traffic conditions
• Implementing controlled handling to avoid signal degradation
• Verifying optical levels before and after splice
• Conducting on site assessments
• Verifying existing infrastructure and layout
• Identifying access routes, hazards, and installation constraints
• Documenting measurements, photos, and technical findings
• Preparing survey reports for planning and implementation
Required Skills

• Minimum Diploma level of relevant qualification.
• Minimum four years of experience.
• Cabling installation, IT support tasks, and the effective use of hand tools in technical environments.
• Single core fibre splicing, including preparation, alignment, and quality testing.
• Specialised in intra lan networks of the multiplex buildings.
• Access points hardware installations with cat 5/6 termination to server racks.
• Small copper network and it’s termination.
• Fibre LAN jointing, including preparation, termination, and commissioning of XPON/GPON SFU ONUs for customer services.
• Experienced in generating comprehensive reports using Excel spreadsheets, PDF documents, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience working with PBX and key systems in operational and support environments.
• Comprehension of technical instructions.
