You’ll work across the stack, from intuitive front-end experiences to robust, high-performing back-end systems, while experimenting with and embedding AI capabilities that enhance how our members receive support.
- Who We’re Looking For
- You’re an adaptable engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and exploring new technologies. - What You’ll Be Doing
- End-to-end engineering: Build and maintain scalable features across front-end and back-end systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
- AI integration: Design and implement AI-powered features, including conversational agents, intelligent triage, and predictive systems that improve user experiences.
- Experimentation & prototyping: Rapidly test AI models, frameworks, and APIs to evaluate their effectiveness, and bring successful concepts into production.
- Collaboration: Work with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to define opportunities where AI can add value.
- System design & architecture: Contribute to technical discussions and help shape Sonder’s platform to support large-scale, AI-enabled services.
- Quality & reliability: Write clean, testable code, and champion secure coding, observability, and best practices in CI/CD.
- Knowledge sharing: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in full stack software engineering, with exposure to AI/ML technologies.
- Strong skills in at least one front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue) and one back-end framework/language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java).
- Experience designing and consuming APIs (RESTful and/or GraphQL).
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and APIs (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong grasp of databases (SQL and NoSQL), distributed systems, and performance optimisation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
