About
Farmgate Backpackers is known as one of Queensland’s most reputable seasonal worker coordinators. We have a culture and reputation for providing challenging farm work, offering 30 hours work per week and sometime more.
The Bundaberg area produces a variety of crops all year round.
The casual horticulture wage set at a minimum of $30.15 per hour and $31.19 after 3 months experience. Superannuation is additional and is paid at the statutory rate.
We are now seeking workers for picking and packing jobs where work will be allocated on a first in basis. Crops include citrus, ginger, mangoes, avocados and sweet potatoes. Work may be over a 7-day cycle, depending on the time of the season. Pay will be in accordance with the Horticultural Award 2020 regarding normal pay and all penalty rates. Performance bonuses are not available and own transport and accommodation must be arranged by you
Work is typically spanned between 6am and 6pm, normally 7.6hrs per daily shift. The payment of overtime rates and additional rates is very rare. The work is often outdoors in the heat. Having a high tolerance for extreme temperatures and hard work is essential. All award benefits under these conditions are met.
No experience nor skills are needed, as training is provided. A very strong work ethic, a 7-9 month written contract commitment and advanced fitness levels are mandatory.
Applications should be made by forwarding a resume and handwritten covering letter to admin@farmgatebackpackers.com.au and quoting job reference No. 20250925
