High-End Architectural Residential Renovations

Role Overview

The Carpentry Foreman is responsible for leading carpentry works on site while remaining hands-on. This role requires a high level of technical skill, strong site leadership, and a commitment to quality, safety, and programme delivery. The foreman plays a key role in coordinating trades, mentoring apprentices, and ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
On-the-Tools Carpentry

Carry out high-quality carpentry works across all stages of residential renovations

Set out works accurately from architectural and structural drawings

Ensure all carpentry works meet drawings, specifications, NCC, and Australian Standards

Maintain a high level of finish, detail, and pride in workmanship

Site Leadership & Supervision

Lead by example on site and uphold company standards

Supervise apprentices and carpenters, including task allocation and mentoring

Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and suppliers

Maintain site organisation, cleanliness, and professional presentation

Programme & Budget Control

Manage day-to-day sequencing of works to meet the construction programme

Identify and resolve issues that may impact time or cost

Monitor labour efficiency and productivity

Assist with managing and documenting variations as required

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Enforce site safety procedures and safe work practices at all times

Conduct daily site checks and hazard identification

Ensure works comply with WHS requirements and company systems

Maintain quality control throughout all stages of construction

Communication & Reporting

Liaise with the builder/project manager regarding progress, issues, and upcoming works

Provide clear direction to site staff and subcontractors

Raise RFIs and clarify details proactively where required

Accurately report progress against milestones

Minimum Requirements

Qualified carpenter with significant experience in residential construction

Proven experience as a leading hand or foreman on renovation projects

Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings

High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Strong leadership and communication skills

White Card and relevant trade qualifications

Valid driver’s licence
