About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter and Turner to join our mechanical engineering and production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise fitting, assembly, and machining of metal components used in production machinery and specialised equipment. You will work from technical drawings and use a range of tools to produce, install, and maintain high-quality mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Study technical drawings and specifications to identify materials, required processes, and machining settings

Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and subassemblies to create complete machinery and equipment

Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, clearances, and mechanical accuracy

Operate machine tools (e.g. lathes, grinders, milling machines) to shape and finish components to fine tolerances

Cut, bend, thread, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and systems

Set up guides, dies, and shaping tools in presses and textile machinery as applicable

Maintain, overhaul, and repair mechanical components and fluid power systems

Perform fault diagnosis and routine operational maintenance of equipment

Assist in the erection and installation of machinery and production systems when required

Preferred Candidate Profile:

Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent

Proven experience in a similar fitter and turner or mechanical trades role

Strong proficiency in interpreting technical diagrams and performing precision measurements

Competence in operating various metalworking machines and hand tools

Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their installation

Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication or maintenance team

Commitment to safety standards and workshop best practices

Pay: A$70,000.00 - A$120,000.00 per year
