Position Title: First Class Metal Machinist.
Salary: $90,896 + 12 % Superannuation
Proactive Maintenance & Engineering is looking for an experienced and qualified First Class Metal Machinist for an immediate start. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Sumner, QLD, 4074, from Monday to Friday.
The First Class Metal Machinist will be responsible for the following duties:
• Carry out all machining tasks on manual and CNC lathes and mills.
• Reading and interpretation of drawings associated with machining and fitting tasks.
• Processing steel as required in preparation for machining.
• General manufacturing tasks such as grinding, drilling & tapping.
• Assembly of metal parts and machinery.
• Basic welding duties.
• Fault finding and diagnosis of faults on equipment with follow-up repair.
• Carry out quality assurance on manufactured parts to assess accuracy with respect to drawings.

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications and work experience:
• A Certificate III or a Certificate IV in Engineering – Mechanical Trade with at least 1 year of full-time experience working in a First Class Metal Machinist role. This formal qualification can be substituted by at least 3 years of work experience in a First Class Metal Machinist role.
Attributes such as the ability to perform under pressure, working as a First Class Metal Machinist, will be highly regarded.
