Overview We’ve built the first version of a website that helps people compare Australian vocational courses. It already has: • Landing pages which include a table to compare courses • A Contact Us page • A About Us • A blog area The basics are there, but we need someone to finish it off, fix some issues, and make it look great on mobile phones (consistent with design guidance to be provided) If you are interested please apply briefly indicating why you are a good fit and any relevant examples. Must have: experience with Next.js (website framework) and Sanity (content system we use to manage the data). Nice to have: • a good eye for design. This site’s success depends on ranking well in Google (SEO) and converting visitors once they land. Beneficial if someone has experience balancing SEO best practices with conversion-focused design to drive clicks to our course comparison table. • Very fluent and/or native English. • Demonstrated examples of capability (please include in your offer) • Ability to attend check in meetings as required during Australian daylight hours. Please see examples of websites offering a similar degree of functionality and design: https://www.careerfaqs.com.au/ AND https://www.training.com.au/ The preferred candidate would attend a detailed handover with the previous senior dev + receive detailed acceptance criteria + walk through of acceptance criteria including design preferences. Fee and timing negotiable depending on experience. What Needs to Be Done 1. Finish the Landing Pages • Finalise reusable landing page template so all landing pages look consistent • Make it easy for each landing page section to be edited (manual edit + duplicate and edit is fine) • Include a FAQ section with click-to-expand answers and a simple footer • Allow us to pre-set the comparison table filters (e.g. default to QLD) for each landing page • Ensure each page is set up for basic SEO (title, description, share preview) 2. Make the Course Table Easy to Update • Set up a way for us to easily upload or change course data in Sanity • Make sure the table updates automatically when data is changed • Make sure sorting, filtering (e.g. by state or price) and links all work properly 3. Other issues • Make sure the Contact Us form actually sends messages to our email • Add a few missing columns or links to the table where needed • Fix small layout issues, broken links, or missing text • Run a basic performance check and fix easy issues that affect speed, mobile friendliness, or search engine ranking. 4. Make the Website Mobile-Friendly and handover • Adjust the design so the site works nicely on mobile screens and complies with design requirements • Make the comparison table easy to use on a phone (e.g. scrollable or simplified view) • Test on common browsers and devices • Detailed ‘how to’ handover for how to update landing pages, tables (can be written or live video tutorial) Milestones & Timing • Handover, Landing Pages Finished – 20% payment • Course Table Made Easy to Update – 20% payment • Bug Fixes & Tweaks – 20% payment • Mobile Version Complete / Handover – 40% payment Estimated development time: around 1.5 - 4 weeks.
