Your role at St John of God Health Care Due to internal growth and promotions, we now have two exciting opportunities for Financial Accountants to join our team, make a meaningful impact through your financial expertise. In this role you will support the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial accounting across our Hospitals and Group Services. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for monthly transactional accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad hoc analysis, ensuring high‑quality financial outcomes that support our mission-driven organisation. Working closely with Finance Managers and the Financial Controller, you will contribute to continuous improvement, audit readiness, and robust financial governance. You will also have the opportunity to mentor Graduate Accountants and contribute to finance projects that enhance our systems and processes. If you are a proactive, mission‑driven finance professional looking to contribute to an organisation that truly makes a difference in the community, we would love to hear from you The Position Processing of the monthly transactional accounting for their respective Hospital(s) and/or Service(s)s or specifically assigned activity (eg Payroll, Prosthesis, or still to be determined) within agreed timelines / month end timetable. Liaise with Finance Managers / Hospital(s) and/or Service(s)s during the month end close. Preparation of allocated Hospitals and/or Services monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Follow up / clear outstanding actions with Hospitals and/or Services Finance Directors / Managers on a timely basis. Ensure month end reconciliations are signed off by Hospital(s) and/or Service(s) Finance Directors / Managers. Follow and comply with agreed work plans. Assist during external and internal audits, providing information in a timely manner. Assist with components of the statutory accounts preparation. Design and implement process improvements. Assisting with the Graduate Accountants as required, including training, mentoring and guidance. Project work as required. You will have hands on experience in delivering month end to tight deadlines and expert knowledge of accounting and finance practices and processes along with the ability to quickly grasp and understand customer needs to deliver their requirements efficiently. To succeed you will be degree qualified and possess a CA/CPA qualification. Above all, people will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
