We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Finance Officer to join our Operations team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is a key part of the engine room that keeps Aligent running smoothly. You’ll have a hand in everything from payroll to budgeting and forecasting, systems improvements to compliance, and you'll play a vital part in our continued growth.

What you’ll be doing

Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the development of long-range financial plans, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts with actionable insights.
Reporting & Analysis: Deliver monthly P&Ls and variance analysis and help us keep financial data clean, accurate, and useful.
Systems Leadership: Be the go-to for Xero, Employment Hero, and other finance tools—driving process improvement and automation.
Transactional Finance: accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll management, statutory reporting, and invoicing and credit control.

What you’ll bring:

Relevant Tertiary Degree in Finance or Accounting
5–10 years’ experience in a similar finance/accounting role.
Sound knowledge of ATO requirements, BAS, PAYG, Super, and payroll tax.
Proficiency in Xero, Employment Hero (or similar) and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Great attention to detail and a passion for process improvement.
A proactive mindset, high integrity, and a strong sense of ownership.
CA/CPA qualified or working towards it.
