- The Role
- Join a dynamic and collaborative team within the Technology Group, where the Commercial and Portfolio Management Office operates. The team brings together shared services across key functions, including Portfolio Management, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Resource functions, to ensure streamlined governance, reporting, and operational support.
- We’re looking for a Finance and Procurement Analyst to support the Service Futures technology group. In this role, you’ll contribute to the delivery of high-quality procurement and financial services while ensuring compliance with internal policies and robust governance standards. Your work will help maintain the integrity and efficiency of our financial and procurement practices across the Technology Group.
- Your key responsibilities
- Lead annual OPEX forecasting and performance reviews to support accurate financial planning and alignment with 5-year Price Submission commitments.
- Manage end-to-end accurate monthly and year end OPEX financial reporting, forecasting, analysis and compliance with internal policies and external standards
- Monitor budget performance, tracked actuals vs. budget, and provided insights to drive efficiency and cost control. Report on expenditure trends and variances, supporting data-driven decision-making
- Perform account health checks and journal corrections to ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Reconcile year-end Capital and Operating commitments, enhancing financial transparency.
- Maintain visibility and oversight of approved headcount, ensuring alignment with budgetary requirements and workforce strategy. Provide headcount oversight to ensure alignment with budgets and workforce plans.
- Support procurement activities by providing advice in line with policy, managing minor sourcing events, purchase orders, tracking invoices, preparing accruals, and ensuring compliance with Victorian Government Purchasing Board requirements across Technology Group contracts.
- Process general and overseas payments, working with Accounts Payable to ensure timely settlements.
- Oversee purchase and receipting of IT-related goods and services, including software, hardware, and licensing.
- Manage procurement events and ensure accurate financial coding and budget alignment.
- Maintain and track software pre-payment schedules in line with finance processes.
- Design and deliver training to improve financial acumen across the Technology group.
- Develop and improve financial processes to support evolving business needs and efficiency.
- What we’re looking for
- Experience in commercial/financial management, process improvement, and system governance
- Strong background in finance, procurement, vendor management, and planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced level) and Power BI (or similar)
- Proven stakeholder management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled at explaining complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Degree in Accounting; CPA/CA (or equivalent) preferred
