Job Description:
We are seeking reliable and diligent individual to join our team as farm hand for an approximate 5 month seasonal period (approximately Jan - April/May 2026).
The role involves various tasks related to harvesting potatoes from paddocks and includes (but is not restricted to) sorting and grading potatoes, long periods of standing in a moving vehicle, able to confidently climbing in and out of large vehicles, and be willing to pitch in on other jobs on the farm as needed to get a job done. Hours of work:
- Average 38 hrs/week over the season (casuals engaged by the shift, hours not guaranteed).
- Typical shift: 8–10 hrs, early starts (about 6-7am); rostered 6-7 days Mon–Sat, with occasional Sundays in peak.
- Weather dependent: Hours may pause or extend due to crop readiness and weather.
Penalties/overtime:
- Public holiday and overtime paid as per the Horticulture Award.
Superannuation:
- Paid in addition to wages at the statutory rate.
Pay cycle: Weekly.
Breaks
- Meal break: 30 min unpaid after no more than 5 hrs work.
- Rest breaks: Paid 10 minute rest break(s) per Award and site procedure.
Location: Sassafras; will move/rotate between nearby paddocks in Sassafras.
Physical demands: Long standing on platforms with moving parts, repetitive movement including bending and reaching.
Travel/licence: Must have OWN reliable transport and applicable driver's licence to sites.
Right to work & checks: Must have valid work rights; reference and/or pre-employment checks may apply.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience in potato grading preferred
- Current valid Australian driver's licence
- Own reliable and compliant vehicle
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations
