Wolfies Farms is an established family-owned farm based in Rossmoya, Queensland, approximately 30 km south-west of Rockhampton. We specialise in the commercial production of sweet potatoes and have been growing them for over 45 years, making us one of Australia’s primary suppliers.

Wolfies Farms is currently looking to employ 20 Farm Hands to assist in general farm hand duties associated with sweet potato production, from crop establishment through to harvest.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Cutting and planting seedbeds in accordance with farm procedures and quality standards.
• Weeding and general crop maintenance to support healthy plant growth and yield.
• Harvesting sweet potatoes using mechanical digger equipment and assisting with manual harvesting activities as required.
• Washing, grading, packing and stacking sweet potatoes to meet quality, hygiene and transport requirements.
• Preparing produce for dispatch where required.
• Using basic hand tools and equipment appropriate to the role, such as snips and knives, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, equipment and tools, and following all workplace health and safety procedures.

Working Conditions
• Work is physically demanding and may involve repetitive tasks, manual handling, bending, lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Work is primarily performed outdoors and employees may be exposed to a range of weather conditions as well as exposure to dust, dirt, plant matter, water and reside chemical,
• Work is performed around machinery and with tools and equipment, requiring ongoing attention and adherence to safety procedures and instructions.
• Majority of work is performed as part of a team environment, requiring cooperation, communication and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Work hours may vary depending on seasonal requirements, weather conditions and operational demands.

Employment Conditions
• Start Date: Immediate
• Duration: Ongoing. The farm operated 12 months of the year

• Award: Horticulture Award 2020
• Hours: Average of 38 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. Hours may vary depending on weather and operational requirements
• Work Hours: Between 6:00am and 6:00pm
• Work Days: Monday to Friday with some weekend work available if desired
• Hourly Rate: $30.35 per hour during 3 month probationary period. $31.19 per hour after successful probationary period. Plus Superannuation
