Job Title: Estimator – Metal Fabrication & Engineering Tenders (Part-Time, Melbourne Based Preferred) About Us: We are a fast-growing engineering and fabrication company based in Dandenong, Melbourne, specialising in metal packages, fabrication, installation, and welding services. With a strong pipeline of projects valued at $1M and beyond, we are seeking an ambitious and detail-driven Estimator to join our team and play a pivotal role in winning new work. This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic, performance-driven company that values precision, teamwork, and long-term growth. Scope of Work: We are looking for an estimator with proven experience in metal fabrication and engineering tenders, who will work side-by-side with our General Manager to build winning bids. Your responsibilities will include: Sourcing tenders from ICN Gateway and EstimateOne (E1). Preparing detailed, accurate cost estimates for metal fabrication and installation packages. Reviewing tender documents, drawings, and specifications to deliver precise pricing. Collaborating directly with our General Manager to develop, refine, and finalise quotes together. Ensuring all submissions are competitive, accurate, and well-presented. Identifying risks, exclusions, and opportunities within each bid. Why Join Us: Work on high-value projects ($1M+) with reputable government and commercial clients. Direct impact on the company’s growth through successful tender wins. Long-term collaboration opportunities – we’re looking for a committed partner, not just a freelancer. Flexible, supportive team culture with room to grow. Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating metal fabrication / engineering projects. Strong knowledge of structural steel, handrails, balustrades, and general metal packages. Proven ability to source tenders via ICN Gateway and EstimateOne (E1). Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and ability to collaborate closely with management. Australian experience preferred (must understand local standards and tender requirements). Work Arrangement & Compensation: Part-time: approx. 3 days per week. Flexible remote setup with coordination alongside our Melbourne-based team. Rate negotiable based on experience and capabilities. Application Requirements: Please include in your proposal: A short summary of your relevant experience. Examples of past tender submissions or successful bids (especially $1M+). Your availability and expected hourly or project rate.
