Our busy practice is seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our friendly team in Darwin, in the delivery of optimal dental care for our patients. Casuarina Square Dental Care is a modern, purpose built multi-chair surgery equipped with intra-oral cameras, CBCT, Cerec and laboratory facilities. 

The position is full-time and the successful candidate must:

-Present with professional attitude and appearance

-Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 

-Be willing to work as part of a team

-Possess a Certificate III Dental Assisting qualification or above

-Have at least 3 years on the job experience

-Possess sound working knowledge of implant and/or orthodontic procedures and systems

-The successful applicant would be confident to act as a team trainer within our team and have the ability to multitask in the areas of reception, sterilisation and stock control

Salary is above award rates - $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary. Remuneration will accordingly reflect the qualification and experience of the successful applicant

Conditions will be according to the Professional Health Service Award 2020

Job description

To provide clinical chairside assistance to dentists and other oral health practitioners


Maintaining a professional approach to work through the provision of quality patient service


To prepare, maintain and manage the dental facility for patient reception


To prepare and provide equipment, dental materials and instruments for each patient according to the dental treatment plan


Sterilisation and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment


To develop radiographs


To ensure storage, packaging and collection of infectious waste, sharps and other wastes, in accordance with the Infection Control Policy


To practice effective infection control procedures


Other duties as directed
