Experienced Construction Estimator Description We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team on a freelance/contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, renovation & extensions, with proven experience preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals for residential projects. Responsibilities Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates. Conduct material and labor takeoffs, and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing. Develop clear, competitive, and accurate bid proposals. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks. Collaborate with Directors to ensure budgets and estimates align with project goals. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a construction estimator. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. Buildxact). Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Preferred Skills Background in residential construction. Experience tendering with & without architectural plans. Strong communication skills for coordinating with suppliers & subcontractors. Project Type Ongoing freelance/contract work with potential for long-term collaboration. Hours - 16hrs/ per week (2 days) with potential to increase.
