The Role

We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team on a casual basis. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional looking for flexibility and autonomy. While our office is in Mornington, this position offers the flexibility to work from home, with occasional office visits as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their bookkeeping records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations in Xero.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Process payroll and manage superannuation obligations for clients.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Liaise with clients to request information and resolve queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist accountants with year-end processes and information gathering.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years of bookkeeping experience.
• Expert proficiency in Xero is essential.
• Impeccable attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and Australian tax regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
• Preferred: Registered BAS Agent.
