Your role at St John of God Richmond Hospital We are seeking applications for an Exercise Physiologist – Grade 1 to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis. Graduates are encouraged to apply! We provide specialised services in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression, drug and alcohol addictions and older adult mental health and deliver personalised programs to help you live a happy, healthy and fulfilled life The Grade 1 Exercise Physiologist works alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical exercise physiology services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. The Position Demonstrated ability to prescribe, deliver and supervise individual and group remedial and maintenance exercise programs for patients attending the service, including but not limited to gym and/or hydrotherapy. Contributes to the delivery of high quality, compassionate, safe clinical services within a range of settings i.e. Inpatient, Outpatient, or home/community-based settings. Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation. Develop appropriate treatment goals and plans for all patients/clients in collaboration with other team members. Active participation in the multidisciplinary team. Referrals to external agencies are initiated in a timely manner. Uses an evidence-based, problem-solving approach to clinical care and service development. We are seeking a qualified Exercise Physiologist with a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science, or a related field, with eligibility for accreditation in Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). The ideal candidate will have experience in assessments, exercise prescriptions, monitoring and progressions for special population using evidence-based practices. Successful applicants must be eligible for a Medicare Provider Number and hold a valid Pool Lifeguard Certification.
