Company : Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd Following an internal promotion, Hastings Deering is looking for an Equipment Specialist to join our team in Mackay. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday. In this role, you will act as the key connection between our customers and Hastings Deering, with a strong focus on Electric Rope Shovel and Dragline product health and performance to maximise satisfaction and minimise downtime. You will deliver trusted technical support, collaborate with Caterpillar and internal teams, and play an active role in driving growth across parts and service. Key Responsibilities Build an understanding of customer maintenance and production plans to identify improvement opportunities Provide customers with technical support and act as their single point of contact for dealer and OEM services Conduct scheduled inspections to prevent premature failures and costly downtime Accurately record downtime events in AMT and maintain reliable component forecasts Capture commercial insights in CRM to support parts and service demand planning Positively influence machine availability by proactively supporting customers in maximising fleet performance About You 5+ years’ experience in a customer-facing technical role Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships Tertiary engineering qualification, relevant trade or equivalent technical expertise Strong problem-solving skills, initiative and agility in dynamic environments Background in mining, mining services or heavy equipment industries Solid parts product knowledge and familiarity with Caterpillar fleets Why Hastings Deering?
