• This role
• The Enterprise Integration Lead is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining the core integration capability that connects Employment Hero’s enterprise systems, data flows, and AI-enabled workflows. This role ensures our systems speak to each other reliably, securely, and efficiently enabling smooth operational processes, consistent data movement, and the foundations required for automation and agentic AI.
• You will play a central role in modernising how Employment Hero integrates systems across GTM, CX, Finance, Enterprise AI Tooling, and internal Enterprise Technology platforms. This includes building and maintaining a robust integration layer, improving the performance and resilience of our interfacing patterns, and working closely with Enterprise Platforms, IT Operations, data, and AI teams to deliver scalable and reusable integration solutions.
• This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, is comfortable balancing hands-on integration delivery with architectural thinking, and can partner deeply with technical and business teams to solve real operational challenges.

As our Enterprise Integrations Lead, you’ll be responsible for

• Integration Ownership & Delivery
• Own the design, build, and maintenance of integration workflows and patterns across enterprise systems.
• Ensure integrations are reliable, scalable, observable, and aligned to modern engineering and automation practices.
• Lead the uplift of our integration tooling, frameworks, and documentation.
• Systems Architecture & Connectivity
• Work with Enterprise Platforms, Architecture, and Engineering to define and maintain consistent integration architecture standards.
• Ensure that upstream and downstream systems are connected through robust, well-designed integrations.
• Support API design, event-driven patterns, and data movement models.
• AI & Automation Enablement
• Work within the AI Enablement function to ensure integration patterns support agentic workflows, model activation, and automation use cases.
• Build integration primitives that allow AI agents to safely access, trigger, and orchestrate system actions.
• Ensure integrations facilitate responsible access, traceability, and data movement required for AI-driven operations.
• Cross-Functional Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with domain owners across GTM, CX, Ops, Finance, and Product to understand integration requirements and prioritise delivery.
• Partner with Data teams to ensure integration design supports quality, governance, and architecture expectations.
• Act as the point of escalation for integration issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
• Integration Practices & Standards
• Define, document, and embed integration standards, patterns, and ways of working across tech teams.
• Champion reusability, maintainability, and resilience in integration design.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and performance management for integration workflows.
• Leadership & Uplift
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers working on integration components.
• Help shape a long-term integration capability that scales with EH’s global footprint.
• Play a key part in the cultural uplift of engineering excellence and operational discipline across teams.

What you will bring

• Experience integrating enterprise systems in modern cloud environments.
• Strong practical design and build skills in Workato.
• Understanding of APIs, event-driven patterns, system interoperability, and data movement.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Data, and AI teams to solve cross-system challenges.
• Comfortable working hands-on while also contributing to architecture and standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach suited to a high-growth scale-up environment.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• 5+ years in integration engineering, automation, or backend roles with a delivery mindset.
• Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, event-driven systems, and data flow design.
• Understanding of modern SaaS platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Slack, Relevance.ai, etc.) and how to connect them
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and adapt to shifting priorities
• Comfortable supporting both AI and non-AI integration scenarios based on business needs.
